It's very true that every fanfic writer has their own take on what Sam and Dean are, what character space they embody, perhaps even what goals they are trying to accomplish. The thing about Supernatural is that we get really only two views of the characters, "Life during wartime" and "the goof troop" and even the goof troop episodes show Sam and Dean's life during wartime. So I think it's easy to give characters a lot of leeway in that sense. I even think that Sam-girls and Dean-girls view the characters on the show differently (oh, fuck it, I know this). However, I still think it's possible for us to identify what is out-of-character, and what is an in-character move.

Which is why when you write Supernatural AUs for movies or comics or books, not everything will work.

In which Lauren spends her time writing meta about this rather than studying for her finals. )

Got my college physical today. I knew I had to get a meningitis vaccination but I ended up also getting a tetanus shot. Blech, I'm so afraid of needles. Flo sat there reading John Stewart to me so I wouldn't freak out. I probably shouldn't have driven to the city afterwards, my arm was hurting so much I wasn't paying as much attention as I should have. I'm sorry, man coming out of parking lot that I cut off and I'm not so sorry to that SUV person. You get what you get.

Flo and I went to the San Francisco Symphony's rendition of the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack. Are we geeks? Yes, I do believe we are. Although I was really pissed off that they got a Baritone to sing "Aragorn's Corronation". I thought it sounded really bad. Besides Viggo Mortenson was definitely a tenor. *headdesk* Oh, god, I'm a geek. We went to this place called Flippers for burgers before hand. Kind of silly really, burgers and then the symphony? Ah well, it was good.

Yesterday Jan, Elaine, and I went book shopping. Elaine wasn't going to buy anything but ended up with at least seven different mangas. We also reminisced about the Netherlands (that would be Jan and me, Elaine is not so interested in the netherlands), made fun of Matt, who can't for the life of him say chocolate sprinkles in dutch, ate French food (yes, Jan that Caesar salad was French too), and made lots of pervie yaoi comments having to do with white chocolate.

to whom it may concern . . .off to Connecticut for two weeks, Colleen will be joining me there, and from thence we shall take over the world. Or at least try to do so.

I bet you were thinking there wasn't going to be any Eye Candy, because it's 2:34 AM, well, you're wrong )

[ music | Lillian-Depeche Mode ]

Haven't updated in a awhile. Saw Depeche Mode on Friday, it was BRILLIANT. David Gahan was so GOOD. Then took Xochitl and Sergio around San Francisco (ie the Castro and the Haight), and that was fun. I bought that David Bowie shirt I've been jonesing for.

Sunday I got my UC apps in, now off to do the rest. Whew. Tuesday evening saw new Harry Potter, it was actually really good. I'm saying this inspite of myself you should know. Most of the other movies haven't escaped my wrath. As of yesterday I'm in Connecticut and my knee hurts alot. Aidan's been fun to hang out with and it's interesting to see Aunt Joan's side of the family again. They're nice. Basically I've been spending thanksgiving listening to synth pop beats, watching Lord of the Rings, and anticipating good food.

to whom it may concern . . .PICTURES to come.
