A lot of you on my F-list are fans of glam rock. So this may or may not be of interest to you. Anyway, David Bowie and other glam rock act’s hits get thrown around a lot, so I decided to make a mix of glam rock artists or neo-glam rock artists who don’t get enough attention or songs by the top acts that languish in relative obscurity. So, enjoy.

I am in love with a boy named Joel because he has beautiful grey green eyes, arched blond eyebrows, and lips that would put our dearest Jensen to shame (unfortunately, Joel is short). This is vaguely disturbing as I'm quite sure that he is into his own sex and not mine. Ah, isn't that always the case.

For those of you who are new to my flist, I am a certifiably insane film studies and history major at Yale. I have yet to figure out how I ended up here. I'm obsessed with Glam rock and at one time would have declared David Bowie my reason for living (Damn you, Supernatural, I hope you're proud of yourself for usurping that honor). I have a tendency to write and read fics in class (perhaps why they are so strange, I do not know) and, as mentioned earlier, I am in love with a boy named Joel mostly because of his eyebrows. Also I'm a unilateralist who thinks that actions movies are really cool (this is why I sometimes I think I may also suffer from split personality disorder).

I hope you haven't started regretting friending me yet.

I changed into my glam rock costume today and I looked pretty awesome I must say. Unfortunately it was SOOOO hot, today was actually a warm day here, so I was pretty much dying. At about 7:00 I gave up and said fine, I still have blue hair, I'll just go as Robert Smith from The Cure. It worked pretty well. I just smudged black make-up all over my eyes and didn't bother to clean it up when they started watering. It also meant goodbye high heels and sequins and hello converse and scrunchy sweat-shirt.

So I went like that to Liquor Treating, I don't think I've ever had such bizarre mixed drinks. It was basically just running around Saybrook getting more alcohol. Eventually we all camped out on the hammock and took extremely unflattering pictures of ourselves. I swear to god I don't look that horrible in real life. At some point I will actually take the time to put some pictures up. I promise. Even when they make me look like I have some facial deformity.

After that I went to my screening and instead of going to YSO like everybody else on campus, I went to hang out with my dad. He's kind of a wreck over Maureen these days. It's pretty awful.

to whom it may concern . . .Happy Halloween people! I hope you got as little work down as I did.

So I redid my layout. Granted nothing much has changed since the code is being tempremental, but with a little luck I'll have it all figured out. Yeah right. I'm going to try again after this, just because I don't have anything better to do.

In any event I had a little bit of a freak-out tonight. Actually that might be understating it. I was a sobbing mess. Holly and Caity were both standing there like, oh god, what do we do? Really wish I had the answer to that question. But hey, at least my banner looks beautiful, right?

I'm trying to get more writing done, it's slow going though. I'm sorry. Hey, at least on Tuesday I'm going to be the hottest fucking glam rocker you ever did see. Which reminds me, I started a glam rock facebook group. Pretty awesome, my dears. If you have a facebook and you wanna join, be my guest.

to whom it may concern . . .Miss you guys. Every damn day.

I've been listening to so much Glam Rock music--from Roxy Music to Suede (does Velvet Underground count too?). It's been nice. Really nice. My current playlist is basically:

1. Attitude (which I just realized ended episode 408 of Queer as Folk, that made me laugh) and Beautiful Ones both by Suede
3. Everyday-Slade
4. All the Young Dudes and All the way to Memphis both by Mott the Hoople
5. Virginia Plain-Roxy Music
6. Suffragette City and Boys Keep Swinging-both by David Bowie
7. Heroin-Velvet Underground
8. Sweet Jane-Lou Reed Version (technically the Velvet Underground version) and the Mott the Hoople version (they don't sound very different you know)

Also randomly I'm So Sorry by Morrisey, Gimme Shelter by the Rolling Stones, Disco 2000 by Pulp, A lot of the Hives, AC/DC, and Carry on Dancing by Savage Garden has been playing. Goodness, a few months will mark the 7th anniversary of the first time I heard Savage Garden . . .the fact that I know that is a little scary.

So Colleen and I hung out today after soccer practice. That was nice even if it was only for a few hours. We don't really do much together anymore, because she's so busy with APUSh. Everybody should tell Colleen to lighten up. I know she doesn't want to hear me say this, but I didn't have THIS much trouble with it. Granted I hear Mr. Kelly has made the class harder this year (which is insane, how much harder can it get?)

to whom it may concern . . .Rod Stewart was some how wrongfully included in the annals of Glam Rock history! WHAT THE FUCK!!! Fucking Rod Stewart sings "Some guys have all the luck", how is that glammy? that's just here, have a tissue and shut up!

Yay for Horror movies, plowing boys over, and insane amounts of make-up. Halloween was pretty good this year. I dressed up as a glitter kid or for those of you who unfamiliar with the term: an insane follower of the glam rock movement (David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Roxy Music etc.). I suppose the worst part of it was that I had everything I wore before hand and wear on a regular basis (the sequined belts, the sequined shirts, the velvet jacket, the heels, the iggy pop shirt, the okay you get the picture).

Flo and I didn't go trick or treating, we went up into the mountains and took pictures. She was going to dress up, but she was too cold, although I'm not sure how, it was warm for Halloween for once.

the depths of insane debauchery or the halloween pictures )

to whom it may concern . . ."I just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about our little deal."-Ms. Beck . . .YUCK what a creep. My sincere condolences Flo.
