Remember how I was struggling with my spn_j2_xmas and I asked you guys for Sam/Dean prompts to get me through it? Well, this time I need J2 prompts to get me through this j2 story, because I cannot seem to drive it forward. It's driving me insane. Help?

You can make it postmodern, like it's the scene in the middle of the story that makes no sense whatsoever yet somehow DEFINES the entire story if read correctly. Like, the crucial scene on page 45 is only explicable through the lens of Jensen's application of Jared's goth makeup. It could totally be done!

Now maybe if I were you I could accomplish this, but since I am me, I do not think it possible. It would be like all those people who complain about how awful it is that I ended it early, they'd now say, WHAT WAS THAT RANDOM INSERTION, TAKE IT BACK, DONOHUE!

But that's the beauty of it--it doesn't have to *actually* make sense, you just have to say it does, and eventually someone will write a paper pointing out all the connections.

But I agree, it doesn't help with everyone who will be all WTF in the meantime. But you could deflect it by leaving off the final crucial scene, and then no one will notice the randomly inserted one in the middle.

I'm still totally intimidated by Merlin fandom! And kind of expecting it to explode at some point in the fandom bubble effect. But I went so far as to write up notes and an outline for that story, so someday it will get done *g*.
