I'm surprised my nose is still attached to my face

It's SOOO freakin' cold here. What happened? On Monday it was only vaguely chilly and NOW, well now it's just awful. I had to drag out the winter coat! So not fun. So I'm debating at this point whether to take 4 1/2 credits or 5 1/2 credits. What do you think, guys? I have two classes that are up in the air at the mo' SEXY BIO (Biology of Gender and Sexuality) or Birth of Europe.

So it's official: Lauren is double majoring in film studies and history. I've already filled both pre-reqs. Now all I have to do is sign that friggin' paper. This leaves Lauren's options open. Either I am going to go to Film School and become a director or I'm going to go to Law School and join the DOJ. Which one is more glamorous, you think?

1. BIOLOGY OF GENDER AND SEXUALITY

that sound GOOD

2. WHY ARE YOU TALKING IN THE 3RD PERSON?

LIS IS NOT HAPPY WITH LAUREN AT THE MOMENT

LIS IS VERY COLD AND NEEDS A HUG

WILL LIS GET A HUG?

ROFL

How can you possibly be colder than I am? And what did I do? You don't get a hug after saying you aren't happy with me!

*bundles you up against cold*

Hmmm....the Gender class sounds interesting, but that's if you get into some really funky theory stuff like Judith Butler. The debates she stirred up are a fun read and wow, are academics snarky.

Then again, I don't know that I could resist a class called the Birth of Europe. Flip a coin?

Director or DoJ. That's a tough one. Can I be your assistant at whichever one you decide on? I could get you coffee and hold your briefcase. ^^

*peeks up over multitude of coats*

Well, I could always take both classes. I'm just trying to decide if I'm crazy enough to do that. Academics are horrible to each other. It's hilarious, my Roman Republic professor said that if we drank around him he'd have to turn us in--unless we ran over Paul Kennedy in our cars as a consequence of such drinking. Paul Kennedy is his rival within the department.

If I become a director I plan to have an entire entourage (a la Andy Warhol, only I won't be such a bastard), all eljay people are welcome to be a part of it. Also, as I told Veronamay, if I become a successful director I'm totally going to direct movies that put all my favorite slash pairings together. And if they try to resist my casting directives THEY SHALL REGRET IT (You can't escape me Hayden!).

If I join the DoJ it would seem a waste of your talent to make you my assistant, can you be like the cool person who knows everything that I call whenever I need help? The Go to girl, if you will?

Oh, and btw, "Jump They Say" is a freakin' awesome song. Elegant post-modern angst rocks my morning.

YES! I LUFF IT! Have you ever seen the music video? Most hilarious thing ever.

I know, this cold is kicking my ass. This is California dammit, stop it!

My vote's for Sexy Bio! That sounds really, really awesome. *is envious* Oh and hey, perhaps you could make Oscar-worthy law-genre films?

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2007-01-17 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I want to be home. It's colder here than it is in Palo Alto. Of this I am sure. Oscar-Worthy law-genre films, eh? Hmm, I shall have to consider.

clearly, law school is more glamorous. chances are, Dean Winchester will show up on your doorstep and whisk you away, and then you'll ride around the country in the Impala with the windows rolled down and wind in your hair. clearly, it's the more glamorous choice.

on a more srs note, I say film school! but then, I'm an English major, so I don't know if I'm really qualified to give advice...

I'm a total Sam girl. So, Mebbe not. I say film school too by the way. My dad says law school because he is a lawyer, you know how that goes.
