Last week's Flashforward totally paid homage to Generation Kill (I'm choosing to view it that way anyway). A woman driving in a HumVee in Iraq radioed in to Godfather as Hitman 2. And in the same episode that Callum Keith Rennie was gallivanting about. When I was watching it last night I had to immediately inform amberlynne.

Also, I spent like the last ten days of my life writing a really shitty story for my writing class that made me want to tear my hair out. THEREFORE, I think it's time for another prompt (snippet, time stamp, what have have you) party so I can enjoy writing again. You know the drill, any fandom I've written for in the past is fair game. Do not feel pushy. Dear SPN people, I would kill for some good prompts, I have not abandoned you!

Ah, it's a little comment in Nate Fick's book, that talks about the time he's on the Dubuque, on his first tour, to Afghanistan. Rudy's also on the ship, and he holds workouts. Here's the relevant bit.

My favorite time of day was early evening. After leaving the gym, I'd climb to the Dubuque's highest outside deck, just below the towering mast of radio antennas. There, on a rubber mat, Rudy Reyes lead his trademark conditioning workouts - stretching, abs, breathing and more stretching. Rudy was a Sergeant in the MEUs recon platoon. ... Rudy's demeanor in this gung-ho world was so decidedly nonmilitary that his platoon-mates called him "the Associate". Even the Colonel stopped calling him Sergeant Reyes. He was Rudy. Afterward, I would lie on my back and watch the sky turn pink as the rocking ship made the clouds appear to swing overhead.

Of course, there's nothing to say Brad was on board the ship, but that's what fic is for!
