It's Dean's turn to make the breakfast run, so Sam sleeps in an extra thirty minutes and wakes up feeling like he actually slept more than two hours. Dean's still not back when he gets out of bed, so he pads to the shower and comes back out with just a towel wrapped around his waist. He bends down to pick through his duffel, trying to find something that passes the sniff test.

He's barely got his boxers over his hips when the door swings open, Dean singing obnoxiously and his sunglasses pushed up into his hair. He's carrying a couple of cups of coffee and a bag, the morning's newspaper tucked under his arm.

"Mornin' Sammy," Dean smirks and dumps the paper onto the table. He hands over one of the coffees and sits down on his bed, tearing into his coffee once Sam grabs his own.

Sam doesn't bother to pull the rest of his clothes off. It's warm and it's just Dean, so Sam just sits down next to him on the bed and starts into his breakfast, their thighs pressed together. Dean doesn't turn on the T.V. either this morning, just leans closer to Sam and eats his food.

It's been a quiet week, just moving from motel to motel with no real destination in mind. Sam knows it won't be long till Castiel or Bobby or someone will come calling with another disaster to pull them into the middle of, but for now, Sam's just enjoying their downtime.

Dean finishes his food first and grabs the paper off the table. He pulls out his half and Sam wipes his free hand on his thigh before grabbing his half of the paper. Dean pulls a pen out of his pocket and leans back into Sam, reading and circling names. Sam finishes his breakfast and takes a healthy gulp of coffee before starting in on his half.

In another twenty minutes Dean will tell him to get dressed, pack his shit and they'll get on the road. This twenty minutes in the morning is their time and Sam's gonna enjoy it.

Even if Dean tries to steal his coffee.
