I'm allowed to have a lost mind

Oh man it's so cold. I've taken to laying my clothing across the radiators so that when I put it on I won't freeze. I'm really struggling with my [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_xmas. Apparently the only things I can write about these days are pretentious whores.

There are times I want to just write a fandom Mulligan Stew where all my fandoms collide. Like it could be set in Terminator's post apocalyptic world, where John Connor is secretly the son of King Arthur via some crazy wonkiness a la The Dark Is Rising and Rodney is the lead scientist working to defeat Skynet and John is able to win over the machines with his amazing Atlantis gene.

And the CSI:NY team is there, old and graying, but generally kicking ass. And Stella reminds John of his mother. Flack's blue eyes are still formidable despite his age.

And of course Sam and Dean are there, ageless, and quietly bitter that they fended off one apocalypse only to have humans engineer a whole new one.

And Betty is there making empanadas and quietly organizing everything so that people don't go insane. They have Cinco De Mayo and Day of the Dead celebrations in their underground bunkers. She may or may not be the common law wife of Daniel who has been given new life as a scary resistance fighter.

Fraser is quietly awesome, Ray at his side, still telling inuit stories.

Everybody will make jokes because the resistance fighters are all gay for each other (given my preponderance of slash pairings).

I guess the question is, HOW DO I WORK STAR WARS IN?

And is there no way your SPN Xmas thing can be about pretentious whores? :)

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 12:38 pm (UTC)(link)
No, because I already have half of it written. And if it does what I want it promises to at least be an amusing story. Also, nobody read about the last set of pretentious whores (probably because they were pretentious), so I have to find a different tack.

Are these the pretentious whores who are too stupid to go to Oxford or Cambridge? Could they not gatecrash the second half of your story?

[identity profile] ignited.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You work Star Wars in by having Sam and Dean regretfully turn in the Impala to buy a spaceship for hunting and trading and then they happen to bump into Anakin and Obi-Wan in a whole mess of intrigue and... lightsabers.

Why yes, I still long for a Sam/Dean space opera AU!

ALSO, hit me up later if you need any poking or help with your xmas fic. I'm still writing mine so we can have mutual yelling at each other. IT'LL BE GREAT. ;)

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 01:51 pm (UTC)(link)
In my story they were at Corpus at Oxford because silly me, I WAS UNAWARE CAMBRIDGE HAD ONE TOO! Also, I think if they suddenly showed up in Massachusetts while Sam and Dean bitch at each other it would be really strange.

Dean: WHY DOES THAT SCARY BRITISH HOOKER WHO KEEPS GOING ON ABOUT FU-CALT LOOK LIKE ME?
Sam: *too busy talking political philosophy with scary British hooker two, better known as Jared*

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 01:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I WILL. I will bitch at you about how I wish I was writing your story instead! IF ONLY MY RECIPIENT DIDN'T HATE WOMEN!

[identity profile] wpadmirer.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd read it. (grin) Especially this part, "Flack's blue eyes are still formidable despite his age." (grin)

I think you meant to say pretentious Dickensian whores. Also you forgot Buffy in the fandom stew. Because you are obviously a Buffy fan, we can smell our own, y'know?

I haven't written one word of mine either, you are not alone in the struggle.

I guess the question is, HOW DO I WORK STAR WARS IN?

*giggles* Oh darling, you make me happy. Lesse. Um. Well, maybe the good guys could have, without realizing it, activated some ancient beacon that beamed a distress signal out into the cosmos that was picked up by not ONLY the Jedi Temple who decides to send a team to investigate, but also the crew of Serenity, who, thanks to Simon, figure out that it is a pretty ancient artifact that is broadcasting anew and therefore could be worth LOTS OF MONEY.

You do know you're going to have to write this now, right? Or at least little snippets from it? *tickle*

This sucks. I'm cheered by the fact that nobody has written my gift yet either!

[identity profile] cathybites.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
ahahahaha! That would be the most amazing story EVER. Mostly because I can just see Betty trying to keep everything organized and everyone happy.

WRITE IT! AHAHA

I guess the question is, HOW DO I WORK STAR WARS IN?
Earth is the only remaining planet? IDK.

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-30 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You say that to all my whacky ideas. SO, clearly I should take everything you say with a grain of salt!

Betty: "Don't mind the bombing, I've organized this years secret santa everyone! And made imitation chocolate!"

I love it. Fraser will never stop telling Inuit stories! He will have been dead for 900 years and the Inuit stories will keep on flowing.

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-31 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, it was sort of a rhetorical question.

[identity profile] dark-reaction.livejournal.com 2008-12-31 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as Fraser tells inuit stories, Ray will love him. They pretty much pwn every other pairing I've had in fandom.
