Yay, women's lib! WHY IS THIS SO FUCKING DEPRESSING!

I have to write this really annoying journal scrapbooky type thing about sex differences in speech. So far I have written entries on "pimps and hos," "the walk of shame," last names, rape, animal traits, being politically correct, sluts, chicks and dudes, J. S Mill's On Liberty, "beards," and the desire for a significant other. If you guys have ever talked with guys or girls and noticed something really awful like that asshole who lives on the floor below you and insists that "a walk of shame only applies to a woman," please tell me about it here, because I am running out of ideas. And because I'm getting too depressed to analyze all of my DVDs from a "HOW AM I BEING DISCRIMINATED AGAINST NOW" point of view.

On a happy note, I had pancakes and bacon at 11 PM, it was magical. And I'm really tempted to scrap this J2 prep school au. Actually I don't think that last bit is happy. It's just not very good. I don't know, anybody interested in betaing it when it's finished?

Interesting! I am a purveyor of both "chick" and "dude" in roughly equal proportion, I think, although I may use "guy" more than I would use "girl". Probably because "chick", to me, feels older than "girl", whereas both "guy" and "dude" have equivalent associated ages? Hmm! It's interesting to think about!

The problem is that for any woman who goes nameless, for example the older woman who works in the admissions office, she calls that woman a chick, so it was like AAAAAAAAAAAH.

I might call the older woman chick! But I would also call an older man dude, so I am at least equal-opportunity labeler.
