I'm very excited to have gotten so in depth of a review. I'm always happy about that. Yay for sweetness. I seem to have a disability to write full-out porn, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing.
I like working in the third-person but staying away from omniscient. If you don't do omniscient right, I always feel like the writing is choppy or stilted. Besides, as you said, it's nice for the reader/writer to be surprised as well by what the character whose thoughts you aren't getting decides to do (that is a very awkward sentence, I can't think of a better way to phrase it though).
One thing I have discovered, a guy is far more comfortable kissing someone/hugging someone than he is holding that someone's hand. So I thought it was a rather telling sign of how they feel about each other.
Everybody really does love that line. As I've said to everybody, I'm sort of surprised, because I crack myself up, but rarely anyone else.
