He has his moments at times, though, where while he's not emotionally stunted, he allows Dean's reactions/wants to make him cover/hide his emotions simply to appease Dean, and that's close enough to me.

Plus, everybody has their stupid moments. I don't see Michael as stupid. He was just trying to cope with new things and people doing that do things that seem stupid at the time but can make sense if you put yourself in their situation and realize that they were just doing what they could with the information they had.
