He hadn’t been the best officer he’d served under. Maybe he’d been the smartest, but that had also been a problem. Smart meant envisioning down the line how everything was going to go deplorably wrong. Nate was made of strong stuff, but he hadn’t been able to bear up under the weight of his shattered ethics.

That is a rather astute observation that I don't think I've come across in any other Brad/Nate fic. Bravo. And in a fic that was both funny and sexy. Very cool.
