Because Ray would intuit what type of wedding they were attending (black tie at sunset, with the bride and groom posed under a twining arbor of grapes) and dig out the classic black tuxedo that he insisted Brad buy for awards dinners and things. And Brad would protest, loudly, but eventually give in, because he wants to see Nate's reaction to him in a tux.
