Oh man, this definitely makes me want to write a story where they're like running a commune or something, and somebody's poor relations get shipped off to be taken care of by them, and Brad pretends not to like the kids, because he already can't deal with second platoon without wanting to bite something half the time, but secretly he loves them, and Nate is the poor long suffering matriarch who makes sure the everybody goes to bed on time and that they eat their vegetables and don't set fire to the barn again. Ray of course runs around naked and does crazy stuff (as the crazy drunken uncle) and the kids who are like from New York City, are sure they're going to commit suicide, because of how insane this place is, but at the end of it they realize it's the best experience they've ever had, and they can always wheedle candy out of Doc Bryan and one day when one of them is valedictorian (because Mama Nate didn't raise no stupid sons) they will tell the world about this crazy place and everybody will think he's kidding.
