During that first season I liked the idea of them switching - there was never a 'bottom' in my head. It was only when Sam began to become really secretive, really tightly reined in and a bit of a control-freak (in such a delicious way) that I started seeing him as a a bottom for the very same reason that you said Dom makes a better bottom. They both just need to let it go and need someone with heart and a grin to do that :D
