But that's the beauty of it--it doesn't have to *actually* make sense, you just have to say it does, and eventually someone will write a paper pointing out all the connections.
But I agree, it doesn't help with everyone who will be all WTF in the meantime. But you could deflect it by leaving off the final crucial scene, and then no one will notice the randomly inserted one in the middle.
