The absolute care and compassion that Dean exhibits is extraordinary. Instead of being frightened he accepts and learns (which is rare with family members of mentally ill people). Sam is so fractured yet amazingly strong, his other personalities were important characters.
The story was beautifully written and will stay with me for a long time.
