Art Post: I haven't done one of these in forever

Hopefully some of you guys will remember that Macedonian!Winchesters verse I wrote. Last night, while talking with maypirate I was suddenly siezed with the urge to art. Everybody's been talking about how they'd love to see Sam and Dean all Ancient-Greekified out. I couldn't help it, I wanted to Ancient-Romanize them instead. I hope you'll forgive.



The picture is heavily based off of 'The Oath of the Horatii' by Jacques-Louis David. I first became acquainted with this story when I took Roman Republic in Livy Book 1.

The Horatii were three brothers who chose to fight so that the Roman army would not have to. Only the youngest survived, and then he went mad and murdered his sister. The specifics kind of deviate from the Sam/Dean air I was trying to create. So, let's just leave it at that.



So there you have it folks, Sam and Dean in Antiquity. It's just regular old graphite and paper. Mostly 2B, I think. I'm not happy with the way Dean turned out, and I blame the scanner TOTALLY. *cough*

Hee. Thank you. I'm thinking of doing an entire series of art pieces with Winchesters through the ages just to soothe my inner history buff. Since I already wrote a piece with them in the 1930s I guess that's next.

Well feel free to request stuff. I'd draw more if I actually had ideas. Honestly I love AUs so much, and they always occur to me, more than I can actually write them, SO, ARTINESS. I do know there's going to be a Robin Hood: Men in Tights post. Dean as Robin, Sam as Ahchoo (ignoring the whole not white thing).

NOT ZEPPELIN. I will concede The Doors or The Who (although in my head Dean doesn't listen to The Who, because he's dumb like that). I'm weird and hate Led Zeppelin. I think "In My Time of Dying" is the worst song on the planet. Even if it does have a poetic name.

GASP. I GASP IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION! I know people who dislike Zeppelin because of the critical spoogefest that is their existence, but GASP, to genuinely dislike them! GASP. GASP. What can I tell you? I'm weird about my classic rock acts. Metallica (the only Metallica song I enjoy is a cover of a Chucky Berry song and that has to be a sign) and Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan don't make the cut. Although I love AC/DC.

If I don't draw that, I think I will hate myself for ever and ever. YOU ARE GENIUS FOR SUGGESTING IT.

I get Metallica. God knows they are not for everyone. They have greatly diminished my hearing ability over the 15 years I've been a fan. I don't people for avoiding that kind of damage.

ALSO, I don't like Dylan either! I always feel like I'm, IDK, musically STUPID or something because I don't get it. But it just sounds like he has sinus problems and a broken heart.

*snurk* It's all because he's so tall and manly. I bet you Sam is one of those secure boys who actually knows how to move like a woman. DUDE, HE'S A BRILLIANT SONG WRITER. But the singing, arg the singing. Everybody else does his work better. Hendrix, The Animals, Roxy Music--the list goes on. I claim you are not musically stupid. You are musically brilliant and some how all those Woodstock Stoners have been duped with his harmonica-fiddling.

EVEN DEAN DOES NOT LISTEN TO DYLAN. HE HAS BEEN REDEEMED FOR LISTENING TO SOME REALLY BAD HAIR METAL BANDS. Okay, enough with the capslock.
